Overview

DOT L2 monitors moving assets and connected equipment. Built-in cellular, navigation and Bluetooth antennas, an accelerometer and a compact enclosure suit vehicle tracking and wireless sensor integration.

Source: DOT L-Series User Manual, edition 260522 (EN), covering L1 and L2. Only L2-specific or clearly shared specifications are used here. 2G operation depends on local network availability; no 4G capability is stated.

Interfaces

Positive-triggered input
1 × A1 (PIN1); logic 1 above 7 V
Universal input/output

Low-side output
U0 open collector, up to 500 mA; inductive transient protection; shared with input
USB
Micro-USB: diagnostics, firmware and settings updates

Functions and application

Track vehicles, monitor ignition via A1 and collect wireless fuel-level or temperature data via BLE. U0 supports pulse counting, frequency fuel-level input and relay control in selectable modes; it is one shared pin, not independent simultaneous inputs and outputs. Safe immobilization mode activates the output only below 5 km/h (manual page 12). Installation and safety assessment remain essential.

Configuration and integration

Configure through the WEB configurator, a USB-connected PC program or SMS. The manual lists Wialon and Locavist support. For Locavist choose manufacturer Edvado, device type DOT A/L-series (20248) and the device IMEI. Confirm current platform settings and firmware before deployment.

BLE sensor compatibility is listed on page 13. Cells 1–2 accept supported sensors or relays; cells 3–4 are relay-only and cell 5 is for tag monitoring. This is not a claim of five general-purpose sensor channels or compatibility with every BLE sensor.

Connection and installation

Main connector: 1 — power, 2 — GND, 3 — A1 (PIN1), 4 — U0 (PIN0). Connect constant positive supply last through a 1–2 A fuse close to the power take-off point. The connector is marked 12–24 V; the specification table states an 8–40 V operating supply. Do not interpret 60 V protection as continuous operation.

Place the navigation antenna upward without metal shielding; for driving-behavior monitoring, face the main connector in the direction of travel. Keep away from hot vehicle parts. Read the full manual before connecting loads or configuring immobilization.

Source notes

Edition 260522 is retained as printed, without guessing its calendar date. The battery row on page 4 uses mA, while the series description on page 3 states mAh; L2 capacity is shown as up to 110 mAh on that basis. The 380 mAh figure belongs to L1, not L2. Battery operating limits and runtime are not specified.

The series table lists 40 g without wires or battery, but does not unambiguously identify an L2-specific weight; it is not presented as a confirmed L2 specification. Current consumption, CAN, RS232 and RS485 capabilities are not specified here. Do not infer them from other DOT models.
